Hand wash or dishwasher?
We will be brief and to the point: always wash your Skottsberg knife by hand and, above all, do not put it in the dishwasher. Our knives are made from the best steel from Japan. For those in the know, the steel is made of 4416 JFE steel with 14 to 15 per cent chromium. This makes sure that your knife will never rust. And no, this is not a licence to put it in the dishwasher anyway.
This is how to maintain the handle of your Skottsberg knife
The handle of your Skottsberg knife is made of Kotibé wood (100% FSC-certified). This kind of wood is very comfortable in the hand and has a lot of grip. Perfect for slicing your piece of meat, then! The wooden handle will be happy if you don't put the knife in the dishwasher. But how can you maintain your wood even better? By occasionally lubricating it with Tung oil. This again creates a water-repellent and protective layer on your wooden handle and so your knife will last for nice, long time.
