GenX is a technology used in the production of synthetic non-stick coatings, developed so that PFOA no longer needs to be used during production. Contrary to what is often written in the press, it is not a specific chemical but a manufacturing process. However, during this GenX manufacturing process, other PFAS are used and toxins are formed, which get into the environment and non-stick coatings.
