Natural oil made from the seeds of the Tung tree
Our Tung oil is a sustainable 100% pure natural oil. Tung oil, or "Chinese wood oil", is made from the seeds of the Tung tree and has been used in Asia for over 2,000 years for finishing wooden vessels, among other things, as the oil makes the wood water repellent. It is good to give your board a new coat of oil every now and then, this will ensure it lasts an incredibly long time.

Today it is used for wooden worktops, floors, furniture, and for our Skottsberg wooden serving and cutting boards, among others. Tung oil is a drying oil, absorbs into the wood, does not discolour, is food safe after drying, water repellent, flexible, making it simply the best natural finish for wood available.
